It is with great excitement that tonight the BABA Committee can announce the finalized 2023-2024 BABA Season playing nights.
With another big year ahead and a total of 263 teams, the weekend was spent piecing together a number of logistical and practical elements that form the playing nights jigsaw puzzle. Due to a large increase of U10’s and U12’s teams, and to avoid a larger day already on Saturdays, the U12 age group has been moved back to weeknight games, leaving Saturday for U10’s games only.
Whilst we understand there are a number of elements to the playing nights that won’t suit everyone, BABA will continue to do the best we can with the constraints in which we have to work with.
Many things have been considered when putting together this fixture grid and playing nights, including:
- Traditional playing nights from previous years.
- Numbers of teams in each grade
- Court availability
- Referee Availability and workload management
The seniors game times have been kept at the 2x20min halves again this year due to the large number of teams overall and limited court space. We do understand that whilst this is not ideal, currently until such point as the restriction of indoor court space is alleviated, we are left with no other option for the upcoming season.
We would like to sincerely thank our venue partners in the GLC and NCC for their continued support in these challenging times. with both a strain of facilities and pressure from many sporting groups always making the job of fitting everyone in even harder than ever before.
The Busselton Amateur Basketball Association would like to thank our Clubs, Teams, Parents and Players for their patience and understanding with the production of this document and remind you to contact your club first with any questions or feedback regarding the 2023-2024 playing nights.
*Information regarding booking Lou Western Courts for trainings will follow in the coming days.
