2024/2025 Season Information

Registrations:
**TEAM SUBMISSIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED**
Teams are submitted via one of our 7 clubs. Each club will have their own process on team/individual player nominations, however they will require a completed Team Nomination Form. Team nominations can be found *here* or by contacting one of our clubs. (Club Contact details)
A minimum of 7 players are required to submit a team, however BABA kindly requests that teams nominate with at least 8 players. Not only will this help teams still field a team to play if players are unwell or injured, but it will also assist with limiting the growth of the number of teams entered into the competition and the pressure placed on our venue capacity.
Online players registrations will not open until the Team Nominations have been submitted and collated. It is intended that this will be mid September 2024.
Playing Days and Venues:
The Busselton Basketball Association competition is generally run over 2 indoor venues – Geographe Leisure Centre in Busselton and Naturaliste Community Centre in Dunsborough.
The allocated playing days will be dependent on the number of teams submitted for the season and therefore cannot be released until all teams have been collated by BABA. It is intended that this will be mid September 2024
Season Dates:
The season will commence on Monday 7th October 2024 with 15 weeks of regular games, (including grading) and 2 weeks of finals series games. (The Grading process is yet to be determined.)

Age Groups:
The 2024-2025 season will see the removal of the U21’s age group and a change of U18’s to U19’s.
The competition age groups are defined by the following divisions, with the school year determined as at the commencement of the season:
U10 – Years 2 & 3
U12 – Years 4 & 5
U14 – Years 6 & 7
U16 – Years 8 & 9
U19 – Years 10, 11 & 12

Fees:
Busselton Basketball playing fees are a combination of a number of components – A Basketball WA Insurance fee, a Basketball Australia Player Levy, a BABA fee and a Club fee.
The cost of the fees as at August 2024 are as follows:
BABA Fees:
U10 $102
U12 $128
U14 $149
U16 $155
U19 $171
Seniors $185
BWA Insurance: $41.75 per player
Basketball Aust Levy: $5.61 per player
Club Fee: Varies from club to club
Further information:
The 2024-2025 Season will continue to run with a Court Coordinator present at every game time slot at each venue. There will also be Umpire Coach/Mentors present to assist with our Beginner and Junior umpires as much as possible through the season.
Teams are to coordinate their own training times. BABA are yet to have discussions with the City of Busselton in regards to utilizing Lou Western Courts
All coaches and team managers over the age of 18 are required to hold a Working With Childrens Check. Exemptions apply to those who have a child in the team.
