BABA Statement – COB District Leisure and Recreation Centre

The Busselton Amateur Basketball Association is pleased with the announcement for the City of Busselton in regard to a new district leisure and recreation centre being built.

As many in our basketball community know the strain on facilities has been both a challenge and frustration for all involved in basketball in the district. Whilst this is not an instant fix and will take time to plan, construct and then be ready to use, the BABA Commitee is incredibly excited to work with the City of Busselton, Basketball WA and our Clubs to ensure the ever-growing needs of our association are met for years to come.  In due course the BABA Committee will look to hold a series of workshops and undertake research to ensure that Busselton has the best possible facility for our incredible basketball community.

As mentioned above this is not something that will help BABA in the short term with the facilities. However, BABA will continue to work with all stakeholders to ensure BABA can hold effective and sustainable competitions in the interim until a new facility can be available. We ask all of our basketball to continue to be patient and respectful to the BABA Committee, Recreation Centre staff and also the City of Busselton as we are determined to grow the positive and strong relationship with BABA.
