Mens A Grade Season Update!

With 10 rounds played prior to the Christmas Break the Senior Mens A Grade Season is shaping up to be one of the best ever!

With all 5 teams still in the hunt for finals and many games going down to the wire, no team can afford to rest on their laurels with 5 games to play.

See below who your side has left to play and where the are expected to land

DUNSBOROUGH OILERS

LADDER POSITION: 1st

Played Won Lost Drawn Bye Points %
8 8 0 0 2 28 166.94

POSITIVES:

The Oilers have proven they are the team to beat this season, Scoring options all over the court have made them nearly impossible for any team to shut out so far. Harry Mooneys move to the Oilers this season has proved a masterstroke, his 103 points from 8 games has been instramental in the Oilers unbeaten run so far.

QUESTION MARKS:

Can they go through undefeated? Or will complacency cause the Oilers to drop a game before or even during the finals? With the season being as tight as it has been if the Oilers are even slightly off they are very gettable.

REMAINING GAMES

Round 11 – Boomers Boomdogs

Round 12 – BYE

Round 13 – Colts

Round 14 – YCW Stingers

Round 15 – Duns. Midnight Oilers

PREDICTION

Very hard to see the Oilers losing top spot from here. 4 games clear with 5 rounds to go.

Boomers Boomdogs

LADDER POSITION: 2nd

Played Won Lost Drawn Bye Points %
8 4 4 0 2 20 112.94

POSITIVES:

James de Mortons continued progress and devlopment at senior level has been a breathe of fresh air to the Boomers line up this season, this along with Mitch Tenardis red hot start have given the Boomdogs a great shot at the double chance come finals time.

QUESTION MARKS:

Player availability has been at times an issue for the Boomdogs with only half the team having played all 8 games so far this season. Can they get their players all on the court at the same time to really challenge to top teams?

REMAINING GAMES

Round 11 – Dunsborough Oilers

Round 12 – Colts

Round 13 – YCW Stingers

Round 14 – Duns. Midnight Oilers

Round 15 – BYE

PREDICTION

The round 12 match up with Colts could be season defining for both sides, However with the superior percentage the Boomers side should finish 2nd.

Colts

LADDER POSITION: 3rd

Played Won Lost Drawn Bye Points %
8 4 4 0 2 20 99.29

POSITIVES:

The young guns have all gelled really well and are playing great team basketball. Tiernan Bass and Josh Sutherland showing why they are players to watch in years to come. Coach Garry Stokes has got his chargers playing the type of basketball that can take them very deep into the finals.

QUESTION MARKS:

Consistancy in performance has been an issue for Colts this season. Have not dominated a game from start to finish and cannot seem to string wins together which could come back to haunt them in the back 5 games leading into finals.

REMAINING GAMES

Round 11 – Duns. Midnight Oilers

Round 12 – Boomers Boomdogs

Round 13 – Dunsborough Oilers

Round 14 – BYE

Round 15 – YCW Stingers

PREDICTION

Sitting a game clear of 4th almost secures them finals, However if they want the double chance they will need to beat Boomers in round 12 and pick up at least 1 more win then the Boomdogs to finish 2nd, safe bet is 3rd

YCW Stingers

LADDER POSITION: 4th

Played Won Lost Drawn Bye Points %
8 3 5 0 2 18 78.31

POSITIVES:

Have not given up big leads during games, the Stingers have never been blown away at any point during the season. The defensive efforts of Beau Chinnery and Alex Gibson have helped keep the Stingers in many games.

QUESTION MARKS:

Where do the points come from….? The Stingers have consistently struggled to score this season and will need to find some different ways to score in 2024 if they want to challenge the top 3 teams.

REMAINING GAMES

Round 11 – BYE

Round 12 – Duns. Midnight Oilers

Round 13 – Boomers Boomdogs

Round 14 – Dunsborough Oilers

Round 15 – Colts

PREDICTION

Very hard to see this team moving from 4th from here, Sitting a comfortable 3 games ahead of 5th but havnt been able to push the top 3 too much so far should see them finish 4th.

Dunsborough Midnight Oilers

LADDER POSITION: 5th

Played Won Lost Drawn Bye Points %
8 1 7 0 2 14 60.89

POSITIVES:

The Future is bright! This is definately a “team for the future” and they have started building a solid base to give the more experienced teams a real shake in the 2nd half of the season.

QUESTION MARKS:

Can they win another game? You would think their best chance will come against the YCW Stingers who they beat in round 7 for thier only win of the year. Otherwise its hard to see them winning another games from here

REMAINING GAMES

Round 11 – Colts

Round 12 – YCW Stingers

Round 13 – BYE

Round 14 – Boomers Boomdogs

Round 15 – Dunsborough Oilers

PREDICTION

Would take something from a movie for this team to finish anything other than 5th.
