It is with great excitement that tonight the BABA Committee can announce the finalized 2022/23 BABA Season playing nights.

After a further increase of another 12 team submissions from last season’s numbers, taking the association to a record 267 teams. The BABA Committee spent the weekend piecing together to number of logistical and practical elements that form the playing nights jigsaw puzzle.

We would like to sincerely thank our venue partners in the GLC and NCC for their continued support in these challenging times. with both a strain of facilities and pressure from many sporting groups always making the job of fitting everyone in even harder than ever before.

Whilst we understand there are a number of elements to the playing nights that won’t suit everyone, however BABA will continue to do the best we can with the constraints in which we have to work with.

Many things have been considered when putting together this fixture grid and playing nights, including:

  • Court Availability
  • Number of teams within an age group and trying to limit the number of byes
  • Conflicts with other summer sports
  • Allowing for other BABA requirements eg. Referee and Representative training as well as other events and clinics that require court space.
  • Referee requirements
  • Work Commitments and allowing people to attend as many games as possible.

The reduction of Seniors playing time from 2x25mins to 2x20mins was a necessary requirement for this season due to the increased number of teams in the senior competition, BABA will work with the Clubs to provide some options during the season to make up for this reduced time.

In regards to Grading week, These WILL NOT be the nights you will play and BABA will release further information regarding Grading week very soon.

In relation to Finals. Again you WILL NOT play on your normal playing night for the 2022/23 finals series and BABA will release more information about finals into the season.

The Busselton Amateur Basketball Association would like to thank our Clubs, Teams, Parents and Players for thier patience and understanding with the production of this document and remind you to contact your club first with any questions or feedback regarding the 2022/23 playing nights.
